Sicily & Amalfi Coast
Mythology, Judaism, Christianity, Islam… The religions of Sicily are the faiths of the Mediterranean. Coming from North & South, East & West, every civilisation that has conquered Sicily has left its theological influence.
Palermo, the capital , is called The Most Conquered City in the World.
With its stunningly beautiful harbor and towering mountains, it has been a settled area even before history was written.
One of the highlights of Palermo is the Capo market. This place is an explosion of colors, fast scooters , animals (even horses!) and loud shouting as vendors compete to attract potential customers their way.
We had an interesting time on the island and to finish out trip in Italy we couldn’t help but ride the beautiful Amalfi Coast one more time.

Back to reality after spending a week floating around Venice and Verona.
After doing a few running maintenance jobs and repairs in the car park of a supermarket (after hours of course!), we visited some friends in the beautiful “Lago di Garda” region who were kind enough to host us for a weekend. Thanks a million Umberto, Prudenza & Semir!
Since then we have been traveling the beautiful islands of Corsica (France) and Sardinia (Italy) which can only be described as breathtaking.

I said to John, Venice is about romance and that was enough for him to run and remove himself from editing this video.
I then decided to look up the definition of romance in the dictionary:
a. A love affair:
b. Ardent emotional attachment or involvement between people.
c. A strong, sometimes short-lived attachment, fascination d. A mysterious or fascinating quality or appeal, as of something adventurous, heroic, orstrangely beautiful:
We´ve now been together for 23 years and none of those definitions of romance fit us!
So yes, Venice has a unique effect on you , but whether you are alone , with a partner or with a good friend , if you have a chance go ahead and experience it, because it will awake feelings, and for the best or worse , they will stay with you.
While googling I found this quote :
“Memory’s images, once they are fixed in words, are erased,”
“Perhaps I am afraid of losing Venice all at once, if I speak of it,”
We hope the images on our video are enough to take you there and hopefully evoque that romantic energy that one cannot help but act upon which ever way you can ……
